The New Then is a full length album. Gaffney defines The New Then as “the music of today that is firmly rooted in the music of the classic rock era. It is a sound that crosses many genres and appeals to a diverse audience.” This album is a collection of songs, some written in California, some upon Gaffney’s return to Philadelphia and others on the roads between the coasts.
Many of these were originally songs of Just Kate that took on new life when brought to the band setting. All of these songs have special meaning to Gaffney as an artist and believer in the positive powers of music.

This 6-song EP was Gaffney’s introduction to the Philadelphia music scene. It is an album about the journey from the road and sings of love and loss, personal struggles, and perseverance in this world. This album was noticed by 88.5 WXPN and led to airplay and the inclusion of the song The River on the WXPN Philly Local CD, released in 2005. This album allowed Gaffney to stake her claim in the City of Brotherly Love as a respected musician and songwriter.
